Google Workshop Helps Parents and Teachers of Children with Autism
The University of Utah, Google and Universal Studios Creative will host a free workshopand tutorial on the SketchUp software for parents and teachers of children with autistic characteristics. The SketchUp workshop will take place on Saturday, Feb. 6 from 10 a.m. to noon
Two New Fossil Rodents Discovered in Utah
A newly-published report describes the discovery of two new prehistoric rodents in Utah. The report also identifies two fossil rodents and a rabbit previously known from other states. All are from a site near Sevier in central Utah.
Utah Publishes Annual Highway Safety Report
Each year in Utah, there is an overwhelming amount of money spent on medical bills to treat bicyclists and pedestrians who have been involved in a crash involving a motor vehicle. In 2007, hospital and emergency charges totaled more than $8.4 million to treat bicycle injuries and nearly $7.5 million to treat
pedestrian injuries.
 
All highway safety issues are covered in the 53-page 2009 Highway Safety Report. 
Utah Supreme Court Judicial Vacancy Announced
Applications are now being accepted for a vacancy on the Utah Supreme Court bench. The position will replace Justice Michael J. Wilkins who will retire effective May 15, 2010. To be considered for the position, candidates must be at least 30 years of age, a citizen of the United States, a resident of Utah for at least five years, and admitted to practice law in Utah.

14th Annual Weber State Storytelling Festival February 22-24, 2010
Weber State Storytelling Festival will be on February 22, 23, 2010 at the Eccles Conference Center. National, State and local storytellers perform. The public is invited to attend. February 24, 2010 the activities will be held at the Davis Conference Center. Over 20 students and student groups from Weber District Elementary and Secondary Schools will present stories at the festival. Schools are invited to bring students to the three day festival.
